Prep Instructions:

1. Shower, shave and exfoliate 8-24 hours prior to your appointment. Using a gel-based body wash is best. NO DOVE OR OLAY! Showering and shaving too close to your spray tan appointment can negatively alter the way your skin processes the solution. If you don't already own an exfoliating mitt and want one, I have them available for local pickup or online purchase.
2. If you are getting a wax, massage or nail appointment, complete these at least 48 hours prior to your appointment. This will ensure the oils and products have had time to wash off of your skin. Do not use retinol products the week leading up to your tan.
3. Come to your appointment with your skin free of all products. This includes jewelry, lotions, deodorant, make-up, oils and perfumes.
4. Sunburn policy: If you come to your appointment with a fresh burn, I will sadly have to send you home. I will not spray tan any client with a sunburn, this is non negotiable. You will need to wait 4 weeks after a peeling burn to get a spray tan. Failure to do so, will result in a very uneven/splotchy tan.

Post Spray Tan Instructions:

1. Following your spray tan, avoid any water exposure. This includes sweating, swimming and showering before your designated rinse time. Your recommended shower time will be provided at your appointment.
2. Avoid applying make-up, oils, lotions, deodorants and perfume until after your first shower.
3. If you have pets, do not let them lick you while your tan is developing.
4. To avoid stained palms, avoid palm to skin contact while your tan is developing.
5. When it is time for that first shower, do not use soap. Just a water rinse is recommended. If needed, you can lightly wash pits/privates but keep the soap very minimal. The goal is to get in and out in a speedy fashion! If you see streaks after getting out of the shower, hop back in and use your hand to guide the leftover bronzer off. Pat dry with your towel. The more water exposure your skin has, the faster the spray tan will fade. Keep the water temperature lukewarm for that first shower.
6. One last tip: this might sound a bit odd, but bear with me! Avoid peeing in the shower during your first rinse. Doing so can strip your tan within the first 24 hours. It's a quirky fact, but I want to make sure you have all the info to avoid any unexpected mishaps!

Wondering what you need to do today?

1. Make sure you have followed my pre-tan care instructions listed above.
2. Wear a loose/dark long sleeve top, sweats and open-toed sandals or slides to your appointment. Please note that the bronzer in the spray tan solution may transfer to your items but is water soluble and should wash out. You will want to stay away from tight clothing, bras, shorts, tank tops, socks and tennis shoes after being sprayed so your tan can develop evenly.
3. Plan for traffic so you can arrive on time to your appointment. I am located at 727 Sutter Street, Suite C, Folsom, Ca 95630

Tips to making your tan last longer:

1. Taking short showers and moisturizing daily with a natural lotion will help lengthen the life of your tan. Stay away from lotions that have mineral oil and high amounts of fragrance (Bath & Body Works and Victoria Secret). Those ingredients will melt your tan right off.

Hempz is my favorite go to body wash and daily moisturizer!

2. Acknowledge that the following activities can strip your spray tan faster:

Chlorine, salt water, long hot showers/baths, saunas and excessive sweating.

2 days before your main event is best.

If you are getting a tan for a vacation, try and schedule your tan the day before your trip so your color is FRESH and can last as long as

possible.

On average, clients using the Rapid rinse solution will see their tan last roughly 5-8 days.

Clients who use the 8 hour solution will see their tan last roughly 7-12 days.

It is important to remember that everyone's skin is different. Your spray tan results will be affected by the way you prep and take care of your tan. To review the proper "Tan Care Instructions", scroll to the top of this page and give those a read through. Your tan will thank you!

Things that can also affect the tan development: if you are pregnant, it is"that time of month" or if you have had any recent medication changes (our hormones can cause the tan to not develop as dark or last as long).

There is no "one shade fits all" around here! Every tan will be tailored to each client's skin type and color goals using color theory and the Fitzpatrick scale. Anti orange formulas ONLY!

Wear dark loose/baggy sweats to your appointment, a long sleeve baggy top and slides/sandals. Stay away from any light-colored clothing, leggings/tight pants, bra, shorts, tank tops, socks or tennis shoes to ensure an even development.

Any clients under the age of 18 are required to wear undies during their spray tan appointment. Disposable undies will be provided for you complimentary at your appointment, or you are welcome to wear yours.
